How to make your grid

01 / The workflow
01

Choose your photo

Use an image with enough detail for the number of tiles you need. The tool makes a centered crop to fit your grid.

02

Check the composition

Choose rows and columns and inspect the visible crop. Faces and text near the source edges may be removed.

03

Download and plan posting

Unzip the PNG tiles. Check Instagram’s current profile preview and posting behavior before publishing your full grid.

A practical exampleFor a 3-column, 2-row grid, the tool crops to a 3:2 rectangle and divides it into six square images. A 3000 × 2000 source produces six 1000 × 1000 tiles.

Know what to expect

02 / Details matter
InputPNG, JPEG, or WebP
OutputSquare PNG tiles in a ZIP with visual row and column numbers

25 MB and 40 million decoded pixels. Grid options up to 10 × 10. Profile previews and display behavior are controlled by Instagram and may change.

Square tile export

This tool creates square files. It does not promise a seamless profile appearance because platform thumbnail crops, rearrangement, and pinned posts can change the layout.

Numbering is visual position

The first file is the top-left tile in the preview. These numbers describe the completed image, not a guaranteed upload sequence.

Keep important details away from cuts

Text and faces across tile borders can be difficult to read in a profile. Preview the full grid and the individual files before posting.

How to Prepare Photo Tiles for an Instagram Grid

Prepare square photo tiles with a centered crop, check visual positions, and plan a grid without assuming a fixed Instagram upload order.

Questions, answered.

04 / FAQ
Does this connect to Instagram?

No. It prepares image files only. It does not sign in, upload posts, or schedule publication.

Does the tool crop my image?

Yes. It makes a centered crop with the aspect ratio needed for square tiles in your selected grid.

What order should I post the tiles in?

Filenames show visual positions. Confirm the current profile ordering in your Instagram account before deciding the upload sequence.

Can I keep the entire original image?

Use the general Image Splitter to divide the full image without the square-tile center crop.

Will the grid always line up on my profile?

No guarantee. Profile previews, pinned posts, display crops, and platform changes affect the final appearance.
